Apple Jack

Hit Thing in association with Tranquility Pictures is happy to
announce the upcoming release of a very unusual short film
soundtrack called "Apple Jack". This release is perhaps the first of
it's kind, as it is not only be the soundtrack CD, but it is
also paired together with the "Apple Jack" short film as a DVD in
the same package. It's also be accompanied with a 16-page booklet
of selected film stills and bio text written by the score composer.
"Apple Jack" was the winner of Best Film in the Los Angels short
film festival 2003.
Written and directed by Mark Whiting, who is widely known for his
legendary production design for the animation film "The Iron Giant",
the film has shocked viewers with it's breathtaking night time
forest scenes and hilarious actors.
The film score was produced by Toby Dammit in New York City and
features a 21-member orchestra. The music is in the traditional
style of 1940's Walt Disney orchestral scores combined with raw
American blue grass and hair raising 1950's science fiction horror.
"Apple Jack" is narrated throughout by country music legend Randy
Travis. The entire film takes on place on a farm in mid-western
America on the eve of Halloween 1938 - the legendary evening of the
Mercury Theatre Broadcast of "The War Of The Worlds". In fact the
broadcast itself is prominent in the film, as the voice of Orson
Welles himself guides both viewer and actors helplessly into the
film's magnificently horrific ending.
Starring twin brothers Cole & Dylan Sprouse as Jack and Academy
Award winner Walton Goggins as Moe Danyou, as well as Gene Dynarski
(from X-Files and Star Trek The Next Generation fame!) as Helmut
Jitters.
